David Lloyd (writer)

David Gibbs Lloyd (July 7, 1934 – November 10, 2009) was an American screenwriter and producer for television.
He wrote for many popular and award-winning sitcoms, such as ''The Mary Tyler Moore Show'', ''The Bob Newhart Show'', ''Taxi'', ''Cheers'', ''Frasier'' and ''Wings''. Lloyd wrote the Emmy-winning "Chuckles Bites the Dust", an episode of the long-running ''Mary Tyler Moore Show''. He won an Emmy for "Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series" in 1976.〔(1975–1976 Emmy Awards @ infoplease.com )〕
==Family==
He was the father of Stephen and Christopher, both of whom are television writers. He also has three other children, Julie, Amy, and Douglas with his wife Arline.
